Congratulations to all of our Scheme couples on your 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th wedding anniversary! We absolutely love to hear all about the new chapters in your love story, whether its travel, a new home, babies or pets. Our Scheme family continues to grow and we hope to celebrate many more anniversaries with each of you.
Rissa and Jared just celebrated 6 years in love. Traci and I are so excited for them. Gabriel and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary in November! Time flies when you’re having so much fun building your future together. I’ve been scheming up the perfect gift for my husband and thought I would share some on my ideas with you. I would also love to hear any of your ideas as well!
Traditionally, paper is the material of the first anniversary gift. It represents strength because of its interlaced connection of threads. Gifts may include a book, love letter or personalized stationery. However, there are so many more ideas that take the paper gift to the next level. For example, you could have Paper and Home create a piece of art with your vows to one another. Its a constant reminder of your promise to each other and a lovely reminder of your wedding day.
You could also bundle love letters to your husband for different occasions throughout the upcoming year, like when he needs to know you love him, or when he misses you, or when he needs to laugh. It’s such a nice and romantic gift that your husband will appreciate. Write one that says “Open when we’re enjoying our cake together.”
If you’re looking for a creative gift, put together an anniversary time capsule! Include photos of the two of you that represent your everyday moments together or memories of the past year. Fill in the same time capsule postcard each year that lists the current year, your favorites, highlights of the past year, predictions for the future and a message to each other. You could also include a letter to your future selves describing your milestones, tidbits from vacation, struggles and funny mishaps. Include mementos from your anniversary night so you can reminisce in 25 years to see how you celebrated throughout the years. Find a safe spot for your treasure, but continue to add to it until you and your husband decide to open it.
I absolutely love this next idea. Give your fiancé a book with the pages carefully folded to display your wedding date or initials. What a great gift for your husband to display on his desk and on a coffee table at home. Please be sure to check out Luciana Frigerio‘s Etsy shop.
Traveling is one of our favorite things to do together, so what better gift than a map displaying our most memorable vacations. I’d take this one step further and print my favorite Instagram photo from each location and push pin it to a cork board with the map. You can find the map below at inkofme Etsy shop.
Again, congratulations to all of our brides. We wish you a lovely anniversary!
