Some girls {and boys} plan their weddings from the time they are young and envision every detail from dress to decor. Others don’t give it more than a thought or two before that engagement ring is on their finger. Danielle and Mike fell somewhere between these two extremes. They wanted a meaningful wedding, but circumstances in life paused or delayed the planning. Finally the time came to take their long term relationship from ‘been together so long, we are practically married’ to ‘officially husband & wife’ We were thrilled to have to opportunity to work with them and help make their wedding day extra special.
Originally, Danielle had planned on a backyard wedding at a rented home in Las Vegas, but logistics led us down a different path. We ended up moving from the house to a completely different venue: Ghostbar Nightclub at The Palms. To be honest, I loved the direction we were headed with the design for the house wedding, but when we moved to Ghostbar everything just made more sense. The design changed to match the venue and it felt so much more like “Danielle & Mike.” This is where the wedding was supposed to happen. And I’m so glad it did! They chose a charcoal, black and fuchsia color scheme which worked well to compliment the existing colors at Ghostbar. The ceremony took place on the Ghostbar rooftop — 55 stories in the air overlooking the Las Vegas strip. Talk about a view!!
Danielle & Mike’s Ghostbar wedding ceremony was customized to fit them. Danielle incorporated a number of elements to recognize her mother who had recently passed away. We had a seat reserved for her on the front row, as Danielle passed her chair, she took a flower from her bouquet and placed it on Mom’s chair. At the end of the ceremony, Danielle & Mike released a balloon together in honor of Mom. And my favorite moment? A perfect pink sunset over the wedding ceremony. Danielle later told me she knew that was her mom, giving us that picturesque setting. It makes me tear up just writing about it! As Daneille & Mike were pronounced husband and wife, they walked down the aisle as each guest threw confetti over them. It seemed only fitting in a Las Vegas nightclub wedding to have confetti falling from the skies! The rest of the night was filled with a delicious dinner and a rockin’ party. I loved seeing both Mike and Danielle surrounded by family and friends, smiling and laughing. It was quite the journey that got them to that October day, but I know they created memories that day made it all worth it. To Danielle and Mike, it really is true — even though you aren’t living in Las Vegas right now, this is your home. I’m grateful to have been a piece of your love story, your history and hope to be part of your future as I know you’ll be back here (either visiting or permanently!!). Love you both!
