Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Courtney grew up loving and participating in local community theater. Dancing, acting, and singing were some of her favorite things to do. This Vegas wedding planner actually started off with her BA in Social Work with an emphases on Child Welfare through the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. She spent the next nine years using that degree until being a part of people’s happiest days called out to her. Courtney jumped at the opportunity to get to use her theater background and her detail oriented style to help couples celebrate their love stories. She found herself enrolled and loving The International School of Hospitality where she received a certification in Wedding Coordination and Design. Courtney has dabbled in a little bit of everything wedding related from floral, decor, venue coordination, catering, and even Las Vegas Blvd Chapel life. At the end of the day Courtney enjoy’s being snuggled up on the couch with awesome husband Seth (another born and raised local) and their fun loving daughter Quinn.
Let’s play loaded questions with Tara…
What is your favorite recipe?
Jackie Potatoes! It isn’t a difficult recipe but it’s cheesy potatoes with a flakey crust that is all sorts of not good for you but hits the nail on the head for comfort food. Why the name Jackie potatoes you ask. Well, it was my grandma’s good friend Jackie’s recipe. So you have to give credit where credit is due! Three generations later we are still making Jackie’s potatoes.
On a weeknight, what could you be found watching?
That depends. If I’m sharing the TV with my hubs then it is most likely a movie (we are big movie buffs). If I get the TV to myself I am probably staying current on Grey’s Anatomy.
How did you earn your first dollar?
I was the Neighborhood Babysitter.
What is your adult beverage of choice?
If I’m feeling fancy, a glass of champagne, or my staple go to Pinot Noir wine. If I’m in need of a little extra kick, it’s going to be rum in Coke or whisky ginger.
Which is your most hated chore on the household chore list?
Hands down putting away clean clothes. Ugh it takes forever!
What do you think the secret to a good life is?
Laughter! Good communication. Taking time to enjoy the little moments. And filling your space with the ones you hold dearest to do those previous things with.
Who were you named after?
The name Courtney was one my mom read in a book. My middle name is Susanne, which was my mother’s mom’s name and I love it. In our family the first born girls middle name is her grandmother’s first name. My mother was named after hers. I was named after mine. And my daughter was named after my mom. So your first name is all yours and unique to you but your middle name carry’s a little something special.
