Hilton Lake Las Vegas Wedding: Anne & Brandon

December 1, 2016 - written by Rissa

We all know that fairytales begin with “once upon a time.”  But this one starts with “Ohmygosh Rissa! I’m so excited!!”  Well…technically it began with an inquiry form on the website, but after an initial email, it was straight to excited exclamations.  This fairytale includes a dream bride, a dream family, a dream design, a dream year spent planning and a dream wedding day.  You might envision a fairytale wedding to be held in a massive ballroom with draping crystals and covered in glitz and glam.  But this isn’t that kind of fairytale.  Anne knew from day 1 she wanted something that felt more natural to who she and Brandon are as a couple.  The venue set the stage for what my fairytale dreams are made of: wooden tables, ivory accents, mixed centerpieces of florals, potted herbs and candles, place settings with menus printed on kraft bags holding fresh baguettes, gold flatware, garlands of greenery, overhead bistro lights, a canoe filled with escort cards, an energetic band and so much more.Anne & Brandon // Andria Lindquist 2016

Anne’s inspiration for the design of the wedding made my heart sing.  She trusted in a team of vendors to make the vision come to life and I know every single one of them adored working with her.  That’s because Anne is kind to her core.  She’s goodness and generosity, she’s positivity and selflessness, she’s appreciative and trusting.  And after meeting her family, it’s easy to see where she gets all of it.  I’ve never worked with a family as inclusive, gracious and friendly.  Or seen a mother of the bride rockin’ on stage with a band with so much class, grace and style!

Anne and Brandon’s love story and wedding day style may not follow much of a fairytale in the traditional sense, but there is one fairytale staple I know they are guaranteed. These two are already 6 months into their ‘happily ever after’ and I know that is just the beginning.  There will be many more mornings spent fishing, more Sundays on the football field, more In-N-Out burgers and more weekends at Lake Las Vegas.  Anne and Brandon’s wedding was special to me for so many reasons, both professional and personal.  It was a highlight of my career to work with them and memories I will treasure forever!

Red Rock Country Club Wedding: Whitney & Josh

June 1, 2016 - written by Rissa

Planning a wedding at Red Rock Country Club with Whitney and Josh kept me laughing and smiling for 11 months as we pieced each part of their wedding together.  Whitney is out-going and says whats on her mind which meant I was always in for a good time!

On the wedding day, we incorporated a number of touches special to Whitney & Josh.  Josh is from the South and wanted sophisticated Southern influences.  We had a delicious menu created by Chef William at Red Rock Country Club consisting of brisket, chicken, pulled pork, corn bread, succotash, chicken and waffles, grits and so much more!  Whitney has a love for horses so her escort card board was a pair of custom made chalkboard horseshoes.  The colors of light peach, blush and ivory gave the day a contemporary style — we called it a Stylish Southern Soiree!  Before the ceremony, Whitney and Josh exchanged their vows in private.  They wanted their vows to be personal and made promises to each other they felt best shared with one another rather than trying to get through them at the altar without becoming overly emotional.  Christine Olson and NP Films did a great job capturing this moment of theirs (without seeing each other before the ceremony!).  We had planned for an outdoor ceremony but as the ceremony time drew closer, the clouds gathered and began a light sprinkle.  The sprinkle grew and turned to full on rain.  I can’t say enough about the amazing vendors we work with who stuck out the weather to do our best to have an outdoor ceremony like everyone wanted!  Luckily, the rain let up just minutes after we were to begin the ceremony.  Chairs were wiped down, guests ushered outside and the processional began!  Unfortunately, there was not enough time to get a full AV set up done in the rain, so the DJ told the officiant he’d have to speak loudly to be heard (because the microphone was no longer an option).  Pastor Kevin looked at the DJ and said, “Oh, don’t worry.  I’m a REAL preacher!”  And he delivered a perfect ceremony loud enough for all to hear!  The night consisted of dancing, cake, an EPIC rap by the Maid of Honor, peach cobbler and photo booth fun!

Legends Ranch Wedding: Kate & George

May 9, 2016 - written by Rissa

It doesn’t matter how many weddings we do at Legends Ranch — every couple takes the space and puts their own spin on it and gives it an entire new feel!  Kate and George are no exception.  They used mixed woods and a burgundy flowers to create an intimate space that felt like it was made just for them!  During the ceremony, a mix of benches and various chairs were used to create a unique feel.  As guests enjoyed cocktails around the pool, the ceremony space was transformed for the reception, again using a mix of benches and seating to give a feel that didn’t feel matchy-matchy.  Red, dark pink, purple and burgundy flowers accented the tables as guests enjoyed a family style meal.  Everyone loved dancing to the live band that kept the vibe fun and lively all night long.
