One thing Scheme loves about a party, wedding or event are the many details, details, details! Getting napkins that coordinate with chargers to accent the menu card and enhance the tablescape…ohhh, ahhh. Bliss. We find many of our brides love the details and design as well and are really passionate about the fun party planning details. Pinterest boards are filled with party ideas well after the wedding is complete. To keep the party going, here is a great organization to feed your paper straw addiction and do good in the community.
The Birthday Party Project is an organization based in Texas dedicated to hosting birthday parties for homeless boys and girls. Monthly birthday parties, with all the trimmings, are held at shelters. Cake, ice cream, streamers, banners, games…remember all those fun details that get planned and designed? These all need to happen for The Birthday Party Project. Now, you can turn that Pinterest board into a reality by donating supplies and resources, all while a child beams at the special attention they’ve been given on his or her birthday! You can assist by Sharing Your Birthday with a homeless child and sponsoring items for a party. There is a Party List filled with needs such as party plates, napkins, streamers and goody bags. Party stores, Target, Etsy all have aisles just waiting to be raided. Blue & white polka dot plates with chevron napkins? Striped birthday candles and coordinating favor bags? Your creativity is the limit!
Check out the website for lots more information and see how you can get involved. Earlier this year I decided to be part of the #shareyourbirthday group. I spent an afternoon letting my 10 year old niece select her favorite party picks to send off to Texas. She and I both had a great time shopping, shipping and sharing with others!
