I am not lying when I said I had actual dreams about Britni & Brandon’s Latin inspired wedding at Springs Preserve.  For months leading up to the wedding day we planned, designed, schemed and dreamed about floating papel picado banners, maraca escort cards, cactus lined tables and hanging bistro lights over a desert courtyard.  Guess what boys and girls?  I’m here to tell you that dreams come true!!    Check out Britni & Brandon’s wedding below and let these images lull you into a beautiful, whimsical slumber.  Sweet Dreams!

When the wedding day did come, it was with thick black clouds threatening rain.  And not just a light sprinkle or shower of a few drops–these clouds meant serious rain business.  It was touch and go throughout the day if this all outdoor wedding would need to be moved inside to a backup location.  It hurt my designer heart to think of all these gorgeous details hooded in a room with a ceiling instead of floating in the sky as intended.  I prayed my guts out that Mother Nature would be kind and hold off on any sort of precipitation until after dinner.  As we went to cut the cake, a few large drops started to fall…but only for a few minutes and then the party was back and rocking!  The evening was set to end at 11:00.  At 10:55 the DJ called for everyone to gather around the newlyweds to celebrate the last dance of the evening.  As if on cue, the clouds grumbled, rumbled and tumbled and the rain gods p.o.u.r.e.d. down as The Lumineers crooned “Hey Ho.”  After a few minutes hugging and dancing in the rain, the guests ran to covering to stay dry if possible.  You may know the legend that rain on your wedding day brings good luck–if a rain:luck ratio exists I would say Britni & Brandon are due bucketloads of luck!  As she dried out under a canopy I passed by Britni and she yelled my name and bear hugged me.  I could have cried in that moment.  Months and months of planning go into creating something special that is only experienced for one day, but the memories last forever.  That memory of Brini with rainy hair and a huge smile will always be a treasured memory of mine!  A bit shout out to Traci and our all our strike vendors who stayed in the rain to clean up soaked linens, dripping wet floral and water logged lighting strands.  Rain was no match for these troopers!
Here’s a tip: I recommend connecting with your wedding planner on social media…Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest.  Any and all of the above.  We get to know you on a more personal level and love to see what makes you tick.  Months ago, Brandon posted a photo on Instagram of the famous Natty Boh character, but this time, Natty Boh had was sporting a Mexican sombrero.  Brandon is no small Natty Boh lover—he actually has that fella tattooed on his leg!  This Latin flair Natty Boh seemed perfect for their wedding and I made a comment that this guy would be perfect on cocktail napkins at the wedding.  And there you have it.  At his wedding, Brandon had personalized Natty Boh cocktail napkins!  It wasn’t anything to make or break the wedding; it wasn’t going to be in every picture like the flowers and lighting and wedding dress.  But I know it brought a smile to the faces of a few Baltimore natives and I think the Hart children will get a kick out of it one day when looking through wedding albums and it dawning on them…”I’ve seen that face before!”  The devil is in the details, and you know I’m a sucker for details!
To the new Mr. & Mrs. Hart–I find it so appropriate that two people who embody love, loyalty, trust and h{e}art will now share a name so fitting to them.  Working with you two while navigating the ups and downs of planning a wedding was a small peak into your souls.  You stuck through the hard times together and celebrate the successes as a team.  And we all know, come rain or shine, you’ll make it through.  With smiles and hugs!  xoxo, rissa
