Springs Preserve Wedding: Lance and Cary

May 28, 2015 - written by Tara

We cannot congratulate Lance and Cary enough on their same sex marriage in Las Vegas. Their midday wedding was heartfelt, sincere and full of love. It was so special to be a part of it.

Lance and Cary treated their guests to a beautiful midday wedding at Springs Preserve this past spring. Their family and friends were greeted with champagne and light hors d’oeuvres, while Lance and Cary signed their gorgeous ketubah with their closest family members. Jozef Bobula Trio played wonderful music in the background while guests gradually got comfortable for the ceremony. Lance and Cary each escorted their mothers down the aisle and Rabbi Mintz performed a heartfelt ceremony including the Jewish culture, touching readings and two glasses for Lance and Cary to each break. Mozel Tov!

Immediately following the ceremony, the best friends toasted the handsome couple and even included an amazing poem explaining how their same sex marriage came about. Lance and Cary, along with their guests, indulged in cake and champagne before saying their goodbyes. It was a perfect day!

Thank you Lance and Cary for choosing Scheme Events to be a small part of your wedding day. It was truly an honor and we are forever grateful for welcoming us into your family and for your generosity and kindness. Congratulations on your marriage! -Tara

Westin Lake Las Vegas Wedding: Alana & Chris

May 26, 2015 - written by Traci

Alana & Chris said “I Do” at the beautiful Westin Lake Las Vegas on a very windy Wednesday afternoon. We are thrilled that Tyler Freear was there to capture every little detail that went into planning this wedding inspired by the desert and wine country vineyards mixed into the day.

When I first met Alana and Chris, I knew the planning process would be fun. Alana has amazing taste that speaks to me in so many ways. With a love for vineyard chairs, she has them in her dining room, and wood textures this wedding was the perfect fit for a vineyard meets the desert of Las Vegas.

For such a calm, cool and collected couple, their wedding day started out just that way. Alana was with her closest friends in a casbah suite at the Westin Lake Las Vegas enjoying lunch and great music all while being dolled up by Amelia C. & Co. while guests soaked in the sun at the pool prior to the ceremony. The wind started picking up throughout the day and gave us quite a scare, but the wind didn’t stop us and ceremony went off without a hitch. Following that amazing first kiss as husband and wife, guests were escorted to Lotus Court for cocktail hour and breathtaking views as the sun set at Lake Las Vegas.

Upon entering into the Mediterranean style ballroom designed by Eventscape, custom architectural fabrication, guests picked up custom escort cards designed by She Paperie from white rock and succulent filled trays. A mixture of rectangular wood tables and round tables draped in a lovely taupe and white striped linen from La Tavola filled the room while glistening candle light and stunning centerpieces from Layers of Lovely accented the tables perfectly for the guests seven course meal. Throughout the evening there was lots of laughter, friends and family meeting for the first time and well wishes for the newlywed couple.

As the evening progressed the dance floor was flooded when these New Jersey natives heard Bruce Springsteen played and once the Best Man got ahold of the microphone and serenaded dancing guests with Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer, the night was complete.

Congratulations Alana and Chris. It was such an amazing experience getting to know you and your family throughout the planning process. I am so happy for the both of you and wish you a lifetime of happiness and love (and lots of pickle martinis in your future!) xoxo, Traci

Green Valley Ranch Wedding: Randhi & Tim

May 21, 2015 - written by Rissa

Last month, we had the privilege of working with Randhi & Tim on their Sri Lankan meets American style wedding.  Cultural weddings are always such great experiences; the ceremony nuances, the colorful clothing, the dancing and chanting…I love it all!Las Vegas wedding planner_0019Las Vegas wedding planner_0018Las Vegas wedding planner_0021Las Vegas wedding planner_0023

Las Vegas wedding planner_0026Las Vegas wedding planner_0024Randhi & Tim hosted their ceremony at the Green Valley Ranch amphitheater with 400 (yes, really…400!) friends and family from around the world.  Getting ready began early for Randhi as she had her hair and makeup done, then dressed in her Sri Lankan wedding sari and jeweled with dozens of bracelets, necklaces, earnings and a stunning headpiece!  She and Tim met before the ceremony for photos with their wedding party and family members.  We then lined up Randhi, her parents, Tim, his parents and a troupe of dancers and musicians to march the entourage through the hotel, past the pool and down to the amphitheater.  It was an amazing sight to witness!  Their poruwa ceremony was conducted by a priest from Sri Lanka–Randhi and Tim acknowledged their parents, family members and others during the ceremony by presenting them with gifts.  As Randhi & Tim were pronounced husband and wife, they walked down the aisle as guest tossed rose petals over them.

For the reception, the ballroom was dressed by Jovani Linens and traditional Indian food was catered by Mint Indian Bistro. The team of dancers and musicians entertained guests during dinner and during Randhi’s wardrobe change.  She traded her sari for a white wedding gown and had a second grand entrance aside Tim in a new tuxedo.  They entered to showers of confetti and opened the dance floor with their first dance.  Guests partied and danced for hours!
